OpenAI Shutters Atlas Browser: New ChatGPT Work Platform

OpenAI is shutting down its AI browser called Atlas, just nine months after its launch. The company had introduced Atlas in October, claiming it would help users understand their world and achieve goals by putting ChatGPT front and center. The browser also ignored large parts of the internet due to copyright issues. OpenAI stated Atlas will stop working on August 9, 2026. The company is now launching a new platform called ChatGPT Work, a software suite for office tasks. This news highlights the ongoing struggle to create meaningful AI products.
