OpenClaw App: First Open-Source AI Agent on iOS & Android

The OpenClaw app is now available on both the App Store and Google Play. This marks the first time an open-source AI agent is shipping as a native app on iPhone and Android. The OpenClaw Foundation announced this launch. Apple had previously resisted agentic AI tools on its App Store. The app functions as a "node" that connects to an OpenClaw Gateway, which users run on a Mac, Linux, or Windows PC. Once paired, the app can access phone hardware like the camera, microphone, and contacts. Users can chat with the assistant or use voice modes, and every gateway action requires user approval. The iOS version is free and requires iOS 18 or later. This native, approved app suggests Apple's stance on AI agents is softening. The self-hosted design, where data stays on the user's gateway, is a key factor. This means no data routes through company servers, and the app collects no data. This offers a new way for people to try a real AI agent on their phone.
