Palo Alto Networks Fights AI Threats with Frontier AI Program

Palo Alto Networks has launched a new initiative called the Frontier AI Critical Defense Program. This program brings together an "all-star group" to combat AI-powered cybersecurity threats. It builds on existing collaborations with companies like IBM and Microsoft, now including Anthropic, OpenAI, and Mitsubishi. The goal is to protect critical infrastructure in areas like healthcare and commercial software from AI-driven attacks. Members work with Palo Alto Networks to apply virtual patches at the network level, neutralizing security flaws before they can be exploited. Palo Alto Networks states its work with frontier AI models has already found over 14,000 previously unknown vulnerabilities in open-source software. This effort aims to help critical infrastructure "patch at ID speed," reducing the time essential systems are vulnerable.
