Paytm Gateway + ChatGPT: Conversational Payments for Biz

Paytm Payments Services has launched a new plugin that integrates its Payment Gateway with OpenAI's ChatGPT. This allows businesses to access and understand their payment information using natural language prompts. Merchants can now query payment activity and business trends directly within ChatGPT. This means founders, finance teams, and operations teams can easily get answers to questions like how many payment links were paid in a week, or the status of a refund. The responses come from the merchant's authorized Paytm Payment Gateway information. The integration is built on the Model Context Protocol, securely connecting authorized merchant payment information with ChatGPT. Access is protected through secure authentication and controlled by the merchant. The current integration is read-only, meaning it retrieves permitted payment information but cannot initiate payments or move funds. A Paytm Payment Gateway spokesperson states this integration allows businesses to get answers on payments as quickly as they ask for them. This development expands how businesses can work with Paytm Payment Gateway, moving from dashboards and APIs to conversational AI.
