PhoenixAI, formerly known as CelerData, has raised $80 million in Series B funding. Sky9 Capital led the round, with additional participation from Atypical Ventures and Olive Technology Ventures. This funding will accelerate the development of its AI-native database. It will also expand go-to-market initiatives and deepen governance for regulated industries. PhoenixAI's platform is designed to handle agentic AI workloads. These workloads issue thousands of unpredictable, real-time queries that traditional databases struggle with. The system unifies live and historical data in a single AI-native engine, delivering sub-second responses at scale. Companies like AppLovin, Coinbase, Conductor, and Demandbase already use PhoenixAI. Customers report sub-second query responses across hundreds of millions of rows. This matters because it shows how new database technologies are emerging to support the demands of advanced AI applications.
