Proton Lumo 2.0: Private AI with User-Controlled Memory

Proton has launched Lumo 2.0, an updated version of its AI assistant. This new release is described as Proton's most advanced AI assistant to date. Lumo 2.0 now includes user-controlled memory, allowing users to configure what the AI remembers between separate conversations. The web search feature has also been improved; it now pulls in live results with source citations, rather than relying solely on the model's internal knowledge. Additionally, Lumo 2.0 adds the ability to analyze, edit, and generate images within encrypted conversations. Proton has also introduced Lite and Max models with this release. The Max model is said to perform comparably to the latest models from OpenAI and Anthropic for many uses, according to Proton's CEO and founder, Andy Yen. This update brings several new functionalities to Lumo, making it a more versatile and personalized AI tool.
