This follows intense backlash and an official response from Saber Interactive CEO Matthew Karch. The game's main campaign story, characters, and dialogue are written by human writers. However, AI tools are used for voice generation and some localization. The optional Free Ride mode includes AI-generated passenger missions and localized dialogue. This mode is separate and can be skipped. The game also features a mix of human-made and AI-generated music, with AI stations clearly labeled. These disclosures come after the game's former lead writer, Stella Sacco, claimed she was replaced by ChatGPT midway through development. She also stated that all passenger voices were AI-generated. This raises concerns for players interested in human-written narratives and for those worried about AI impacting jobs in game development.
