Rivian AI Assistant: Contextual, Multimodal EV Tech

Rivian is rolling out a new AI-powered experience called Rivian Assistant. This assistant is designed to understand users and the context of what they say, offering multimodal capabilities. What's interesting is, Rivian Assistant is available on all compatible Gen 1 and Gen 2 electric vehicles. To use it, owners need to have a Gen 1 or Gen 2 R1T and R1S vehicle and be subscribed to the Connect+ platform. Rivian says this technology helps their EVs evolve from being software-defined to AI-defined vehicles. The assistant can be activated by saying "Hey Rivian" or by pressing and holding the left steering wheel button. It's powered by Rivian Unified Intelligence, a multimodal AI platform. The bottom line is, this aims to provide a more powerful, hands-free experience for Rivian owners.
