Rocket Money AI Rowan: Cancels Subscriptions & Negotiates Bills

Rocket Money has launched a new artificial intelligence agent called Rowan. This AI can cancel subscriptions and negotiate bills for users without them needing to make a phone call. Here's how it works: Built in partnership with Anthropic, Rowan monitors a user's finances and sends a text message when it finds a savings opportunity. For example, if a user has a free trial for a streaming service they don't use, Rowan will text them before they get charged. If the user replies "cancel," Rowan contacts the service, cancels the trial, and confirms when it's done. This conversational interface also handles bill negotiation and savings automation. A user can text Rowan an instruction, like rounding up coffee purchases to the nearest dollar and moving the difference to a savings account, and Rowan will automate that rule. While other AI tools can offer financial advice, Rowan is designed to take action on behalf of the user. This matters because it could significantly change how people manage their personal finances.
