Round Hill Sues Suno, Anthropic: AI Copyright Infringement

Round Hill has filed high-stakes copyright infringement lawsuits against AI companies Suno and Anthropic. These complaints were submitted to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. Round Hill alleges that Suno ingested its compositions to train its AI models and removed copyright management information. Anthropic faces similar claims, with the suits pointing to infringement of 500 musical compositions. The complaints state that total damages could exceed $1 billion. What's interesting is that Round Hill is also suing Bright Data, a company that provides proxy networks and web scrapers. Round Hill claims Bright Data's tools are designed to scrape music files and strip them of copyright information, making Bright Data contributorily liable for Suno's infringement.
