SailPoint Acquires Entro Security for AI Agent Security

SailPoint Technologies is acquiring Entro Security, a startup specializing in securing artificial intelligence agents for businesses. This move aims to strengthen SailPoint's current offerings in AI access control. SailPoint, known for managing employee access to applications, announced the acquisition without disclosing financial details, though reports suggest a value of about $200 million. The deal is expected to enhance SailPoint's Agentic Fabric product, launched in March to extend access controls to AI agents. Entro's platform inventories AI agents, maps their interactions, and identifies risks like unused agents or insecure credentials. It flags unusual behavior and provides alerts with remediation suggestions. By integrating Entro's technology, SailPoint plans to broaden the AI workloads its product can secure, offering coverage for over 1,000 AI and non-human identity types. The acquisition, expected to close in the third quarter, will embed Entro's monitoring and risk mitigation features into Agentic Fabric. This will address issues such as overly broad access permissions for AI agents. This development means better security for companies using AI.
