Salt Security: AWS WAF Ruleset for AI & API Protection

Salt Security has launched the first AWS WAF Managed Ruleset designed for AI Agent and API protection. This new offering extends AWS WAF with specialized defense against API abuse and AI agent-driven threats. It includes industry-first Model Context Protocol, or MCP, awareness. This new managed ruleset is now available in the AWS Marketplace. It allows AWS WAF customers to add protection to existing web access control lists quickly, without needing new infrastructure. The ruleset provides advanced API threat detection and context-aware rate limiting. It also offers security signal enrichment. This helps to close security gaps that traditional WAF rules do not cover, especially with the rise of AI agents as a source of API traffic. The bottom line: this new tool aims to give organizations a simple way to protect against modern API and AI agent threats within their existing AWS WAF deployments.
