Sam Altman: AI Won't Cause "Jobs Apocalypse

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman says artificial intelligence will not cause a "jobs apocalypse." He spoke virtually at the Commonwealth Bank of Australia conference. Altman believes the "human part" of employment is irreplaceable. He shared that he used AI to reply to some Slack messages and emails, but still responded to others himself. He explained that people care about interactions with other people, making some tasks difficult to outsource to AI. What's interesting is Altman admitted his previous thoughts on AI's impact were different. He expected more entry-level white-collar jobs to be eliminated by now.
