Sam Altman's OpenAI Luxury Watches: AI-Themed Gifts

Sam Altman has reportedly gifted himself and six OpenAI employees luxury watches. These custom-built Swiss watches are worth around 1.5 crore rupees each. The watches are made by Vanguart and are based on their futuristic titanium Orb model. They feature the OpenAI logo and AI-themed engravings like "COMPUTE IS DESTINY" and "SCALING." One watch also includes the Python-style code "if AGI.aligned: deploy()." This code references the principle of deploying AI for peaceful purposes. Vanguart co-founder Axel Leuenberger shared this detail. The company, which has produced fewer than 200 watches in total, had about a third of its 33 employees working on this project. This shows the effort behind these rare pieces. This news highlights a unique way a prominent tech leader is recognizing contributions within the AI industry.
