SAP AI: Automating ERP with Joule & Autonomous Suite

SAP is launching new agentic AI tools designed to partially automate its ERP suite. These tools include major upgrades to the Joule user interface and Studio developer tool. What's interesting is there are 50 new teams of agents for typical tasks across five key business processes. These rely on a unified data foundation. These new products fall under brands like SAP Business AI and SAP Autonomous Suite, aiming for what SAP calls the "Autonomous Enterprise." SAP CEO Christian Klein stated that the ERP remains the "trusted system of record" and the "brain" that AI's large language models access for information. The new Business AI Platform aims to close the AI data gap by unifying SAP's integration, development, and data management platforms into a single, governed environment. This allows AI to access and understand crucial business data.
