Shinhan Securities: S. Korea's 1st AI Agent Department

Shinhan Securities has launched South Korea's first AI Agent Department within a financial company. This new unit aims to create a collaboration model where humans and AI work together. The AI Agent Department will support the wholesale business by preparing meeting materials, proposals, conducting market research, and analyzing issues. This allows human employees to focus on developing investment strategies and finding new business opportunities. What's interesting is the department itself is composed of four AI agents: a team leader and three role-specific agents. The team leader assigns tasks, and the other agents carry them out, handing off work to produce a final output. Shinhan Securities plans to gradually expand this AI collaboration model to major divisions like research, wealth management, investment banking, and digital platforms. The company views AI as a digital co-worker, combining human judgment with AI's execution capabilities to boost productivity.
