Snyk Evo ADS: Securing AI Coding Agents in Enterprises

Snyk has launched Evo Agentic Development Security, or Evo ADS. This new platform component aims to oversee autonomous AI coding agents used in enterprise software development. Evo ADS addresses the security challenges of AI agents that operate with limited human oversight. It governs the tools agents use, their actions, and the code they generate. Unlike traditional security tools, Evo ADS enforces controls directly within the agent's workflow. Snyk's data shows significant adoption of AI coding environments. Forty-three percent of developers use multiple AI coding tools simultaneously. More than half have Model Context Protocol servers installed. The company found that one in twelve developers with these servers had critical security issues. Also, nearly one in four enterprise design partners had agent skills referencing external dependencies. Snyk has identified working attacks, including poisoned security scanners and prompt injection. Evo ADS will provide a comprehensive inventory of AI agents, servers, and skills. General availability for Evo ADS is set for June 29. This is important because securing AI development is crucial for protecting enterprise software.
