SolarWinds: Agentic AI for IT Operational Resilience

SolarWinds is embedding agentic AI into its IT infrastructure management, monitoring, and observability tools. This aims to move end-users towards greater operational resilience built on trust. This development was discussed at the Johannesburg leg of the SolarWinds World Tour. Dan Hauenstein, VP: Product Marketing at SolarWinds, outlined key innovations and a product roadmap. These include announcements in agentic AI designed to reduce complexity and drive autonomous IT operations. SolarWinds will launch AI-driven insights and automation in October. This will enable proactive and predictive resilience and simplify complex hybrid environments. The company's 2026 IT Trends Report found that 71% of IT professionals believe AI makes their roles more demanding. Also, 41% of frontline managers say AI has not reduced their workload. There's a "tug of war between optimism and caution around AI." Eighty-three percent of survey respondents say AI is only as effective as the quality and breadth of data. Yet, only 38% "very much" trust the quality of their data. This indicates a "trust gap" holding people back from AI. SolarWinds' vision is trusted and autonomous operational resilience, where organizations offload more tasks to technology. Their AI-powered portfolio focuses on driving outcomes across monitoring and observability, incident response, and IT.
