Sonos 27: AI Audio OS, New Hardware & India Launch

Sonos has unveiled Sonos 27, its newest home audio operating system, featuring AI assistant integration and new ways to move sound. For customers in India, the Sonos Play speaker arrives on September 8th. Here's the thing: Sonos 27 aims to be an open platform, letting users choose their preferred AI assistant, including connecting external AIs like OpenAI's ChatGPT. This means you could ask ChatGPT to play music across your home without leaving that interface. Looking ahead, Sonos also previewed "Custom Agents," allowing users to build their own AI agents. What's interesting is Sonos Fabric, a system that lets products sense each other. New features built on this include Headphone Linking for Sonos Ace Ultra, which lets you move audio between speakers and headphones. Also, Sonos Positioning Technology will automatically adjust a speaker's role based on its physical location. Two new hardware products, Beam Ultra and Sonos Ace Ultra, were also announced globally. Beam Ultra is a mid-size soundbar with Dolby Atmos, and Sonos Ace Ultra headphones are designed for deeper system integration.
