SpaceXAI Grok 4.5: Cheaper AI Coding Agent Pricing

SpaceXAI has launched Grok 4.5, a new coding agent developed with Cursor. This model is priced to compete, costing $2 per million input tokens and $6 per million output tokens. This makes it significantly cheaper than Anthropic’s Opus 4.8. Grok 4.5 is designed for coding, agentic tasks, and general knowledge work. It is the strongest model SpaceXAI has released to date and the first built beyond just software engineering. Training involved a broad mix of STEM tasks and research papers, using tens of thousands of Nvidia GB300 GPUs. Independent tests show Grok 4.5 is efficient, using about 60% fewer output tokens than Opus 4.8 for similar tasks. It also used nearly a quarter of the total tokens Fable 5 needed for coding-agent work. This could mean big savings for engineering teams.
