Synopsys AI Tools: Faster Chip Design with Microsoft & AMD

Synopsys has unveiled new autonomous agentic AI tools for chip design, developed with Microsoft. These tools aim to significantly reduce the time it takes to create working silicon from a chip specification. AMD is currently evaluating these new workflows for its next-generation products. Synopsys introduced two main workflows. One focuses on debug closure, using AI agents to find design failures and speed up validation. Early evaluations show a 25% to 40% reduction in debug cycle time. The second workflow automates implementation and closure work, showing improved quality of results.
