Tencent Hunyuan AI: Stellar Launch Despite Server Crashes

Tencent's new AI, Hunyuan Hy4 Preview, is delivering strong performance despite server crashes and long queues on its launch day. The AI became an instant hit, causing servers to be completely overwhelmed. On August 28th, Hy4 Preview launched and integrated into Tencent's AI office platform, WorkBuddy. The task queue was full on day one, and three days later, Tencent expanded its inference cluster and extended the free trial of an older version to manage demand. Even with these measures, queuing during peak hours is still common, with tasks taking over five minutes instead of the usual two. The model has seen major upgrades, with parameters increasing from 295 billion to 770 billion, and context length expanding to over one million tokens. This allows Hy4 to load more knowledge and capabilities. Its performance in software engineering and Agent tasks has significantly improved, with its score in the Terminal-Bench 2.1 test rising from 70.8 to 85.4. This shows a strong demand for powerful AI tools.
