Tesla China has integrated ByteDance's Doubao large language model into its electric vehicles sold in the Chinese mainland. This new onboard intelligent voice system offers features like casual conversation, singing, and storytelling. Users can also switch between four vocal timbres and five operating modes. What's interesting is this system moves beyond simple question-and-answer interactions. It provides a more natural and fluid experience. Mercedes-Benz also expanded its partnership with ByteDance to integrate Doubao into its electric vehicles in September 2025. Chinese tech firms are making significant advances in AI models. Alibaba recently unveiled its Qwen3.8-Max, and AI startup Moonshot AI released Kimi K3, which they say is the largest-parameter open-source AI model globally.
