Torq Acquires Jit: AI Security Context Enhanced

Torq has purchased Jit to enhance its AI-powered security context capabilities. This acquisition aims to improve how Torq understands the relationships between users, endpoints, identities, alerts, and privileges. The New York-based security operations vendor says Jit's technology will help interpret the business significance of security events, rather than just processing isolated alerts. Torq's co-founder and CEO, Ofer Smadari, explains that identical alerts can carry very different risk levels depending on what or who is involved. Jit's context graph is an artificial intelligence tool. It understands business relations between various assets, from identities to endpoints, and different alert types, providing real-time context. Jit, founded in 2021, raised $38.5 million in a seed round in June 2022. Thirty-three Jit employees, including co-founder and CTO David Melamed, are joining Torq. This means security teams can make more informed and faster decisions about potential threats.
