UAE Fights AI Cyberattacks with AI Defenses

The United Arab Emirates is fighting back against AI-powered cyberattacks with its own AI defenses. Since February, the UAE has detected and contained coordinated attacks on its aviation, energy, and education sectors. Hackers are making about 800,000 attempts a day, which is four times the pre-war level. AI is now writing phishing emails, finding software flaws, and building malicious programs much faster than security teams can respond. A weakness that once took days to exploit can now be attacked within hours. Iranian hackers have used AI at every step, from choosing targets to writing malicious code and fake messages. The attacks on the UAE have come from about 20 countries and over 40 organizations, including groups linked to Iran. The UAE has put many government services and banking online, and its power grid relies on computer networks. This makes them tempting targets because successful attacks can cause widespread damage. The Cyber Security Council is publicly announcing each incident and the methods used. This information could be vital for others facing similar threats.
