Varya: Avataar AI's Fast, Culturally Aware Video Model for India

Avataar AI has launched Varya, a new video generation model designed for India. This model is highly efficient and culturally aware. Varya is 10 times faster and significantly cheaper than global alternatives. It was developed with support from the IndiaAI Mission. What's interesting is it uses a technique called "model distillation," reducing the generation process from 50 steps to just four. This means it can create a 5-second video in about 45 seconds. A key feature is its cultural awareness, trained on datasets to understand Indian clothing, architecture, and traditions. Avataar AI plans to charge about 48 paisa per second of video, making it nearly 20 times cheaper than international services. This will make advanced AI video tools accessible to many users, including students and small businesses.
