VergeIO: AI Agents Manage VergeOS with Plain Language

VergeIO is now enabling AI agents to directly manage its VergeOS environment. This allows AI to build networks, deploy workloads, and diagnose faults using plain language. The company introduced Verge CLI, a command-line interface for VergeOS, and an MCP server with agent skills. Together, these let AI platforms like Anthropic’s Claude Code and OpenAI’s Codex manage and monitor a customer's VergeOS. Larry Ludlow, Chief Architect of Verge CLI, states that the AI reasons against VergeOS documentation, ensuring accurate diagnoses. This single API covers compute, storage, and networking, allowing it to trace faults across the entire system. The Verge CLI maps to the full VergeOS API, giving AI platforms a comprehensive command set. Administrators control what the AI is allowed to do. Jason Yaeger, SVP of Product and Engineering, notes that this offers customers lower costs and AI-ready infrastructure. Any MCP-compliant model or agent can be used, including local open-weight models for privacy. This development echoes Tintri's past work, where an Alexa speechbot could manage storage array functions. This means managing complex infrastructure could become much simpler and more efficient for businesses.
