Gartner assigns Agentic AI a "Transformational" benefit rating, with market penetration between 5% and 20% of its target audience. It is considered an "Emerging" maturity. What's interesting is that Gartner states Agentic AI is at the peak of the Hype Cycle, driven by rapid interest and ongoing confusion. XMPro's CEO, Pieter van Schalkwyk, believes industrial agentic AI runs natively across both edge and cloud. He notes that industrial enterprises are now planning for cloud-delivered AI services that operate across the edge, integrate with operational technology, and govern themselves.
