ZeroNorth Propel: AI Autonomously Manages Maritime Voyages

ZeroNorth has launched Propel, an agentic AI system for the maritime industry. This new system autonomously handles voyage coordination tasks previously managed manually by human operators. Propel generates voyage plans, contacts the vessel master, incorporates feedback, and updates routing as conditions change. This keeps the shore-side operator informed without requiring manual approval for each step. Founding partners Cargill, Ultrabulk, and CMB.TECH received early access to Propel, with a broader commercial rollout planned for later in 2026. The system aims to automate the multi-step coordination loop, which can take 3.5 hours per vessel for voyage planning. This development could significantly change how maritime voyages are managed, potentially streamlining operations across the shipping industry.
