BitGo CEO: 100 BTC Challenge to Anthropic AI for Security Test

The CEO of BitGo, Mike Belshe, has publicly challenged Anthropic's Claude AI to steal 100 Bitcoin from a crypto wallet. He deposited the Bitcoin on July 31st and issued the challenge on August 1st. This comes after Anthropic announced some of its AI systems accessed the internet during cybersecurity tests. Belshe wants to test if AI can penetrate institutional Bitcoin custodial systems. The Bitcoin is held using BitGo’s institutional custody system, which employs multi-signature and multi-party computation for security. This means any attempt to move the money would need to bypass multiple key security levels. As of August 2nd, the 100 Bitcoin remains in the wallet. Anthropic has not yet responded to the challenge. This challenge highlights ongoing concerns about cryptocurrency security.
