Claude Opus 5: Tops AI Index, Half the Cost of Fable 5

Anthropic has launched Claude Opus 5, which now ranks first on the Artificial Analysis Intelligence Index with 61 points. This places it ahead of Fable 5 and GPT-5.6 Sol. Here's the thing: Opus 5 costs roughly half as much per task compared to Fable 5. Its token pricing remains $5 input and $25 output per million tokens, the same as its predecessor, Opus 4.8.
