F5 AI Security Platform: Securing Shadow AI & Agentic AI

F5 has launched its new AI Security Platform to help organizations manage and protect their AI systems. This platform aims to give CISOs better visibility and control over their AI infrastructure. Here's the thing: F5 also acquired SurePath AI, a company specializing in discovering both approved and unapproved AI usage within networks. This acquisition helps close the "shadow AI" visibility gap, which is a major concern for security teams. Shadow AI refers to unauthorized AI tools that security personnel cannot see. The new F5 platform offers five security pillars. These include AI Discovery to map all AI applications, AI Security Testing against over 140,000 attack patterns, and AI Governance to enforce regulatory requirements. It also provides AI Runtime Protection, which showed 98.2 percent security efficacy in independent testing, and AI Observability for a complete audit trail. What's interesting is that F5's own research indicates 98 percent of organizations are preparing for agentic AI, but its adoption is happening faster than the controls designed to manage it. The bottom line: this new platform helps organizations secure their AI usage, which is becoming increasingly critical as AI adoption grows rapidly.
