Fortinet FortiEndpoint: AI Monitoring & DLP Enhancements

Fortinet is enhancing its FortiEndpoint platform with new features to help companies manage employee AI tool use and prevent data loss. The update includes AI visibility and controls, built-in data loss prevention, and an AI assistant for security teams. What's interesting is these features are all integrated into a single agent, console, and license. FortiEndpoint will give administrators a consolidated view of AI applications, allowing them to permit, restrict, monitor, or block these tools based on policy. The integrated data loss prevention will inspect information moving to AI applications, flagging sensitive data like personally identifiable information and intellectual property before it leaves the device. It also provides real-time user prompts. Additionally, the new FortiAI-Assist feature will allow security analysts to investigate events and troubleshoot issues using natural language. These additions are expected in the third quarter. The bottom line is these enhancements aim to simplify security management in complex, AI-enabled environments.
