Musk Accuses Altman of Theft, SpaceX AI Satellites Next Year

Elon Musk is accusing Sam Altman of stealing a charity and Apple’s technology. Musk believes SpaceX will start deploying AI1 satellites next year. He also suggests Altman will be in jail by then. This comes after a lawsuit filed by Apple against OpenAI. Apple claims OpenAI stole its proprietary technology. Apple says over 400 of its former employees now work at OpenAI. One former VP reportedly encouraged Apple employees to bring hardware components to OpenAI. Musk stated, "After stealing an open source AI charity, you then stole all of Apple’s phone technology!" He also said, "We start flying them next year. Maybe you can come see them if your parole officer approves." SpaceX recently unveiled its AI1 satellite design. These satellites can support up to 150kW of peak compute payload. They will be made at SpaceX's Gigasat facility in Texas. This ongoing feud between Musk and Altman dates back to OpenAI's inception. Musk was a primary financier of the non-profit. He later tried to take control of OpenAI but was rejected. This ongoing public dispute highlights significant tensions in the tech industry.
