Nvidia Eyes Perplexity Investment at $30B+ Valuation

Nvidia is reportedly in discussions to invest in the AI startup Perplexity. This potential equity funding round would value Perplexity at over US$30 billion. Here's the thing: this investment would mark an increase of more than 50% from Perplexity's previous valuation. The company's annualised revenue has also seen significant growth, rising to over US$750 million from under US$250 million at the start of 2026. This growth is partly due to Perplexity Computer, an AI agent for automating tasks. What's interesting is that Perplexity previously finalized a US$20 billion valuation in September 2025. They also signed a US$750 million agreement with Microsoft earlier in 2026 for its Azure cloud service. Perplexity plans to go public in 2028.
