Ooredoo & Nvidia Launch 1GW AI Platform in Indonesia

Ooredoo Group is launching Indonesia's first dedicated AI compute and neocloud platform, named Zankore. This platform aims to capture a multi-billion-dollar AI infrastructure opportunity. Here's the thing: Zankore is a collaboration with Nvidia, Nokia, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison. It plans to contract one gigawatt of AI capacity over the next three years, powered by Nvidia's supercomputing platform. What's interesting is Zankore has already secured customers for about 200 megawatts of AI capacity. This is planned for the first half of 2027 and is expected to generate around $13 billion in revenue. Ooredoo Group is a founding shareholder with a 49% share in Zankore, committing $800 million over the next five years. The initial capacity will be funded through equity and debt, sourced from multiple data center providers across Indonesia. The bottom line: This initiative positions Ooredoo to transition from a traditional telco to a leading digital infrastructure provider, addressing the growing demand for AI capabilities.
