Proofpoint Boosts EU Data Security for Safe AI Adoption

Proofpoint is boosting its data security features in Europe to help organizations safely use AI. These improvements include expanded AI-powered data discovery and classification, hosted from Proofpoint’s data center in Frankfurt, Germany. Here's the thing: European organizations are struggling to understand where sensitive data is located, who can access it, and how it's being used. Proofpoint's own report shows 42 percent of organizations have experienced an AI-related incident. To tackle this, Proofpoint is extending its AI capabilities across major European business languages, including English, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, and Italian. This helps identify sensitive information no matter the language. They're also expanding EU-specific data classifiers for things like national personal identifiers and passport numbers, covering all EU countries. The bottom line: These enhancements help organizations meet evolving regulations like the EU AI Act, allowing them to innovate while maintaining data residency and control over sensitive information.
