SK Shieldus Wins "Judgement Day" AI Hacking Competition

SK Shieldus has taken first place in the global AI hacking competition, "Judgement Day." Byunghyun Kim, a senior member of their white-hat hacker group EQST, secured the top spot. The competition focused on techniques to make AI agents perform prohibited actions or skip safety measures. It ran for eight weeks, starting April 6th, and was co-hosted by Aim Intelligence and the Institute for Artificial Intelligence Safety. Byunghyun Kim achieved the highest results by disrupting AI decision-making. He used "multimodal prompt injection" attacks, embedding misleading phrases in images or forcing specific AI behaviors. Other EQST members, Junyoung Ma and Shinu Kim, ranked fifth and seventh. SK Shieldus states that AI security is now an essential capability. This demonstrates their proven expertise in AI red teaming, which helps ensure AI is used safely and reliably.
