Sophos Fusion: AI-Native Cybersecurity Defense System

Sophos has launched Fusion, an AI-native "defense system" designed to unify security tools. This new platform combines security operations, endpoint, network, identity, email, and cloud protection. Sophos calls Fusion the industry's first complete AI-native cybersecurity defense system. It's a rebuild of Sophos Central, a platform currently used by 625,000 organizations. Fusion moves onto an open architecture and integrates Taegis, an analytics engine acquired last year. The company aims to solve the common problem of enterprises using many separate security products, forcing teams to switch between dashboards. Sophos says Fusion allows every security signal to flow into one shared data layer in real time. A detection on one control point triggers coordinated action across others, a feature called Synchronized Security. Agentic AI investigates and responds within analyst-set limits. Sophos uses its own operations as proof, stating its AI resolves 52% of cases without human involvement, with an average response time of 89 seconds. This new system could simplify cybersecurity management for many businesses facing increasingly complex threats.
