Zcash: Anthropic AI finds no serious vulnerabilities

Zcash founder Zooko Wilcox reports that an AI security audit by Anthropic's Claude Mythos found no serious vulnerabilities in the Zcash protocol. This audit was requested by Shielded Labs. What's interesting is that this follows a recent temporary suspension of Orchard transactions due to a four-year-old forgery bug. That bug was discovered with the help of Anthropic's Claude Opus 4.8 model. The Zcash Foundation stated there was no evidence of exploitation or unauthorized value creation. However, the use of AI models like Mythos is also sparking security concerns across the crypto industry. Anthropic recently suspended access to its Fable 5 and Mythos 5 AI models due to a US government export control directive. This highlights the double-edged sword of AI in cybersecurity.
