Zhipu's GLM Flagship: New AI Tops GPT & Claude in Coding

An anonymous AI model, called "stealth/ox-alpha," has appeared on the OpenRouter platform. This model is outperforming mainstream AI models like GPT and Claude in certain coding tests. Independent researchers say its technical features strongly suggest it's Zhipu's unreleased next-generation flagship model. One researcher, Ben Davis, stated he is "99% certain" ox-alpha belongs to Zhipu's GLM-5.x series. This conclusion comes from examining its video encoder, tokenizer, output style, and audio rejection behavior. The model supports text, image, and video input, has reasoning capabilities, and a context window of over one million tokens. Tests show ox-alpha and Zhipu's GLM-5V-Turbo consume video tokens identically. Its tokenizer also matches GLM-5.3 exactly. These findings suggest a new, powerful AI could be on the horizon.
